I enjoy jogging, and have joined several marathons.  I run very slowly, but I can usually finish.

I also enjoy reading, and playing with my two sons.

Gary's Bio

My name is Gary Michael Lewis.

I have lived in Japan since 2002 and have gained a lot of experience in teaching people of all ages and abilities.

From high level business presentations to children’s lessons, students have said they find my lessons fun, relaxed and easy to understand.  I have also gained experience teaching TOEIC, TOEFL, IELTS and EIKEN and have helped students understand their mistakes and guided them to success.

I have also studied Japanese , and reached JLPT level 2.  This has helped me understand student mistakes and how it feels to study a language.

I hope we can have fun, and learn at your own pace.

私の名前はGary Michael Lewisです。

2002年から日本に住んでおり、あらゆる年齢、能力を持った人達に英語を教え、経験を積んでいます。

ハイレベルのビジネス英語プレゼンテーションから、子供向けレッスンまで、どの生徒様にも、私のレッスンは楽しく、リラックスしながら簡単に理解できると言ってもらえます。またTOEIC、TOEFL、IELTS、英検を教えた経験もあり、生徒様が自分の間違いを理解し、成功へ導くようお手伝いしてきました。

私は日本語も勉強してきました。日本語能力試験2級を持っています。これは生徒様の間違い、言語を学ぶことをどのように感じているのかを理解するのに役立っています。

During my time in Japan I also managed to complete an MA in Applied Liguistics from the University of Birmingham.  I feel this has opened my eyes and given me a better understanding of being an English teacher and how language itself works.

日本にいる間、バーミンガム大学で応用言語学の修士号を取得しました。そのおかげで、英語の先生であること、言語自体がどのように機能するのかをよく理解できるようになりました。
