World Desserts

When we discuss world cuisine, it’s easy to forget about desserts. Ask anyone to list Italian foods, and they’ll name pizza and pasta dishes long before they get to tiramisu – a delightful coffee-flavoured dessert – or tartufo – a beautifully crafted ice-cream dish covered in chocolate or nuts.
There is an old English saying ‘the proof of the pudding is in the eating’, meaning that you must try something to know how good it is. When you’re sampling world cuisine, make sure you try Turkish baklava – pistachio nuts in pastry and honey – and English banoffee pie, made with banana and toffee.
